Big Deep Breath Retreats

Feed your creative soul and seed good work in the world.

There is no path but the path you make

  • Imagine giving yourself the gift of a spark…..to ignite your creative life, to become more experimental, improvisational, and on purpose.
  • Imagine arriving at the spot where the prairie meets the eastern hardwood forest, where possibility is created from the edges of these two ecosystems, where new ideas, wild possibilities, and deep reflection brings you clarity, insight, and renewed life direction.
  • Imagine a beautiful, nurturing home, looking out on gardens, wildlife, deep woods and peaceful prairie grasses. Excellent food, nourishing conversation, and an environment that invites the deepest expression of you to emerge.

Are these your most precious dreams? Did you leave them behind to get by?

What is a Big Deep Breath Retreat?

We offer 3-day personal retreats, focused on nurturing YOU, and creating an environment that allows you to reflect, experiment, improvise and create a more intentional life. Big Deep Breathe retreats are completely tailored to your needs and provide a path to deeper connection with yourself, nature and your own creative expression in the world.

...the prairies are nothing but grass as the sea is nothing but water; the most prairie life is within the place: under the stems, below the turf, beneath the stones. The prairie is a vastly exposed place of concealment....where the splendid lies within the plain cover.

I recently attempted to guide myself through a confusing time and just wasn’t getting anywhere on my own. Gina hosted me for a custom solo retreat and my experience with her reinforces why it’s so important to have a masterful guide. She was the perfect partner to help find my way out of the weeds.
Gina collaborated with me to create a retreat structure that met my goals but also left room for the unknown and for transformation. She made sure I had a balance of engagement, rest, creativity, and reflection. She used a deft combination of masterful coaching and deep soul work that created breakthroughs, all while making the exploration feel easy, restorative, and fun. Her guidance had me feel cared for while being challenged in an inspiring way. Not only did I leave with more clarity about how to move forward, I had much more energy and enthusiasm for my life as a whole.
I can’t recommend her retreats more highly. Gina is an amazing host and expert retreat guide. Everything about the retreat was easy and nourishing - the warm and inviting retreat space, the delicious food, and the beautiful setting. I felt instantly at home in this oasis of peace and beauty, nestled in the Kansas countryside, with a lake nearby, and many acres of land to explore. It was the perfect experience to find my way home to myself again.

Other Retreats

The Art and Heart of Coaching. 3 day
Join other coaches to discover the cutting edge of the coaching profession and your own work. We will ask questions about the impact of coaching in the world, look for ways to engage with communities not currently served by coaching, and find your way to the intersection of coaching with activism, art, community, and place. This intimate group of up to 6 coaches will talk and coach, but also engage in reflection, nature based activities, creative exploration, and fun. Whether you are a new coach, or have been around long enough to experience the ups and downs of the work, you will find renewal, rest, and rejuvenation in this intimate setting.
Getting started. 3 day
We all have good ideas, and sometimes can't quite make them happen. Have you kept your idea a secret, or tried before and failed to create it? What do you do when you struggle to get started, or get stopped by predictable and inevitable blocks? This retreat will bring together up to 6 people in a beautiful, nurturing environment, to get going on whatever you want to create. We will use reflection, coaching, support, nature-based activities and creative exercises to bring that good idea closer to reality. It is not just about having a plan, but also about how to get yourself moving when you get stuck. When you have an idea that is important, it is often difficult to manage the self-doubt and inertia to keep going.
Journal Quilting. 3 day
This retreat will look for new ways to think about life questions, beyond "figuring it out." Join us to play with a process called "journal quilting", using fabric, paper, beads and baubles to create your own unique wall piece. You will start with a question, and let the materials provide the answers. You do not need to know how to sew or quilt! Add to the mix personal reflective time, coaching with Gina, nature-based activities, and nurturing food, in a small community of other explorers.

Come plant your wild seeds. Let’s find our way, together.
