Some of your ideas will flop, some will bloom, and all of them are invited to the party. Let’s revolt against waiting until we are qualified, calm, or confident.
For nine months, I planned to start an online community, but I never felt ready. During those months, I gathered everything I had ever written, every idea for workshops, retreats, and online courses, and all the photos from my 20+ years of using fiber art as a personal journal. I covered my walls with flip chart paper, tracking themes and chronicling what I had already created and could use.
And still, I couldn’t seem to launch.
Then a friend challenged me to see that my entire history of ideas, thinking, and creating was not a rigid plan, but a beautiful and colorful quilt I could wrap around myself as I discovered what I have to say now. What if all those ideas, thoughts, and plans from my many years as a teacher and coach simply serve as the foundation for what I know today?
This was the key that unlocked what I next.
So, I have launched Wild Seeds!
Here’s the thing about wild seeds: they get planted everywhere. We can’t control them. Some sprout and some do not. Wild seeds are all about propagation, spreading, and wild abandon- planting and trusting that conditions will allow something will grow.
I imagine Wild Seeds as a community where we don’t have to be curated, where we celebrate the messiness, the failures, and the successes of whatever we do to create a more beautiful life and world. This is a place not to get it right, but to celebrate all of who we are without needing a character transplant or be someone we are not.
We each carry a rich history of thoughts, ideas, accomplishments, failures, and false starts. We also hold dreams and secret wishes, and we stand on a foundation made of both confidence and doubt. We came into this world to make a difference, and we spend our lives experimenting with what that might be.
I invite you to discover the blanket that represents all of who you are and what you have done—the one you wrap around yourself as you move forward to create a more beautiful life and world.
In Wild Seeds, we will host free calls to explore our bravery, our ideas, and how we find support. We will offer retreats, coaching, and inspiration. We will invite you to participate and share your thinking. Most importantly, we will work together to nurture our deepest dreams.
